CPA-Sponsored Kitchen Cabinet LCA Published

The Forest Products Journal (FPJ) recently published a cradle-to-grave life cycle assessment (LCA) of kitchen cabinets, commissioned by CPA. The LCA’s purpose was to collect empirical data from kitchen cabinet manufacturers to better understand the carbon impacts of cabinets made with composite wood panels through studying three possible end-of-life options: landfill, combustion, and reuse. The CPA sponsored report titled “Cradle-to-Grave Carbon Impacts of a Kitchen Cabinet” followed the 2022 Woodlife Environmental Consultants worldwide literature review on environmental impact information from composite panels at the end of service life.

Using the FPJ paper, CPA created a layman’s summary titled “Carbon Storage Story for Kitchen Cabinets Containing Composite Panels.” See Kitchen Cabinet LCA. More Info: Gary Heroux
