Annual Meetings

CPA offers premier networking bi-annual meetings in the spring and fall. These member-only events feature speakers and educational workshops on substantive industry issues, exhibit and sponsorship opportunities to build awareness of members’ products and services, and business meetings to develop policies and programs. The annual meetings offer a unique opportunity to network with CPA members, including producers, distributors, suppliers, end-users, and colleagues.

2025 Spring Meeting Details

The 2025 CPA Spring Meeting will take place from April 13 to April 16 (departure on the 16th) at the Laguna Cliffs Marriott Resort in Dana Point, California, a stunning beachfront location.

MONDAY, APRIL 14

General Session

The Monday General Session will include a presentation on post-consumer MDF fiber recycling by Louis Van Roy, Business Development Director of Unilin and an update on sustainability initiatives by Rachael Jamison, Vice President, Markets and Sustainability of American Wood Council (AWC).  

Lunch Presentation

Ashley Craig, Partner and Chair of Venable’s International Trade and Logistics Group, will discuss the tariff landscape.

Environmental and Public Affairs Committee

Sahar Osman-Sypher, American Chemistry Council’s Senior Director of Chemical Products and Technology, will provide an update on the TSCA Risk Management Process.

TUESDAY, APRIL 15

General Session

Chris Beard, VP of Building Products of John Burns Real Estate and Consulting will present on the current state of the building products industry and an overview of the Marketing Committee’s market research results.

Production-Technical Committee

Dirk Killen, Senior Business Director at Bakelite, along with his colleagues, will provide a formaldehyde quality control technology update.

Inclusions: Transportation to and from the course from the hotel (approximately 20 minutes each way), grab-n-go breakfast, cart and green fees, and range balls.

Additional Details:

  • Spring Meeting registration is required for tournament participation
  • Rental clubs may be reserved when registering for the meeting and tournament ($75 + tax – payable directly to the course on tournament day)
  • Golfers will receive their pairings via email and any additional golf details approximately a week before the tournament
  • Beverage Cart charges will be charged to the individual

CPA’s technical team is offering a training session for the panel producer’s Quality Control management and technical staff attending CPA’s Spring meeting.

Date: Sunday, April 13

Time: 2:30-6 pm

Objective: Ensure mill staff are prepared and informed to stay compliant with formaldehyde emissions regulations for composite panels 

Open to: Anyone wanting to understand compliance with formaldehyde emissions regulations for panel producers

Training Topics:

  • In-depth review of in-plant requirements for CPA’s Grademark certification
  • Compliance with EPA TSCA Title VI, CARB, and Canadian formaldehyde regulations
  • Quality management system requirements
  • Preparation for inspections
  • Developing correlation curves
  • Reporting requirements
  • Handling non-complying lots and experimental trials
  • Best practices for in-mill QC testing and calibrations
