CPA Publishes VOC Emission Barrier Effects Technical Bulletin

CPA reprinted the “VOC Emission Barrier Effects of Laminates, Overlays, and Coatings for Particleboard, Medium Density Fiberboard (MDF), and Hardboard” Technical Bulletin. Initially created in 2003, this technical bulletin explains the role of decorative overlays, coatings, and wood veneer in reducing volatile organic compounds (VOCs) that contribute to indoor air quality. The bulletin provides a table of common composite panel surfaces and categorizes the percent reduction of formaldehyde emissions by each surface treatment type.

CPA is reviewing several technical bulletins to ensure procedural accuracy and marketplace relevance as part of the Production-Technical Committee’s strategic plan. See VOC Emission Barrier Effects Tech Bulletin. More Info: Gary Heroux
