U.S. Housing Starts Strengthen in June

U.S. housing starts in June were at a seasonally adjusted annual rate of 1.32 million, up 4.6% from the revised May figure but 0.5% lower than the comparable month last year. Single-family starts declined 4.6% from May to 883,000.

U.S. building permits in June were at a seasonally adjusted annual rate of 1.40 million, increasing 0.2% from May but decreasing 4.4% from the same month in 2024. Single-family authorizations dropped 3.7% from May to 866,000 in June. See U.S. Census Bureau
