U.S. residential furniture factory orders in November 2023 were $2.4 billion, up 26.0% from the comparable month in 2022 and 3.7% higher than in October. Year-to-date orders rose to $25.3 billion, a 3.7% increase from the first eleven months of 2022.
Furniture shipments dropped 16.0% from November 2022 to $2.1 billion and fell 7.3% from October 2023. Year-to-date shipments were $31.7 billion, a 17.4% decline from 2022. November 2023 backlogs were $2.8 billion, shrinking 35.0% from 2022 and down 3.8% from the prior month. See Smith Leonard
