Architectural Billings Dip in August

The July Architecture Billings Index (ABI) decreased 1.9 points to 48.1, according to The American Institute of Architects (AIA) Economics & Market Research Group. A score above 50 indicates growth in billings, while a score below means a decline in firm billings. Design contracts decreased 2.1 points from July to 47.9.

August billings were below 50 in all geographic regions except the Northeast at 50.6. The Commercial/Industrial sector experienced growth in billings with a score of 51.5, while the Institutional and Residential sectors fell from July. See AIA
