Formaldehyde Emissions Certification
Home Testing & Certification Certification & Inspection Formaldehyde Emissions Certification
CPA’s Formaldehyde Emissions Grademark Certification Program provides independent, accredited, certification of formaldehyde emission levels from wood panel products. Requirements for initial qualification of manufacturing facilities, plant quality control procedures, and periodic inspections by CPA – all reasonably assure that certified, unfinished, composite panel products meet the emission limits of applicable product standards and regulations.
In operation since 1985, this program was originally designed to meet the certification requirements of the Department of Housing and Urban Development’s Manufactured Home Construction and Safety Standards, 24 C.F.R. Part 3280. It has since been revised for use in the certification of composite wood products to meet federal U.S. EPA regulatory requirements and emissions specifications of current composite wood product industry standards.
These standards include:
- EPA TSCA Title VI
- CARB ATCM 93120
- CEPA SOR/2021-148
- ANSI A208.1 Particleboard
- ANSI A208.2 Medium Density Fiberboard,
- ANSI/HPVA HP-1 Hardwood and Decorative Plywood
