Seasonally adjusted shipments for all U.S. manufacturing industries in August were $590.1 billion, down 0.5% from July. Wood product shipments increased 0.2% in August to $13.1 billion compared to the prior month. Shipments of furniture and related products rose 0.3% from July to $6.9 billion.
New orders for all U.S. manufacturing were 0.2% lower than July at $590.4 billion in August. Furniture and related product orders totaled $6.7 billion, dipping 0.9% from July. See U.S. Census Bureau
