U.S. Wood Products Dip in May

Seasonally adjusted shipments for all U.S. manufacturing industries in May were $584.8 billion, down 0.7% from April. Wood product shipments also decreased 0.7% in May to $13.2 billion compared to the prior month. Shipments of furniture and related products increased 0.7% from April to $6.9 billion.

New orders for all U.S. manufacturing were 0.5% lower than April at $583.1 billion in May. Furniture and related product orders totaled $6.9 billion, growing 1.2% from April. See U.S. Census Bureau
