On March 6, the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) finalized its rule on “The Enhancement and Standardization of Climate-Related Disclosures for Investors.” The rules provide guidance on how public companies share climate-related disclosures with investors so dependable data is created that is capable of comparison. While these rules apply directly to public entities, private suppliers to these companies may be required to provide information as part of the supply chain to ensure compliance. See SEC
