In the second quarter of 2026, the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB)/Remodeling Index (RMI) reported U.S. remodeling confidence at 61, decreasing one point from Q1 but two points higher than the same period last year. The current market conditions indicator remained unchanged from the previous quarter but grew four points from Q2 2025 to 70. The future indicators index declined two points from Q1 to 52 in the second quarter but increased one point year over year. All indices remained above the 50-no-change mark.
The Remodeling Market Index (RMI) is based on a quarterly survey of NAHB remodeler members, providing insight into current market conditions and future indicators for the remodeling market. A score over 50 indicates that remodelers report market activity higher than in the previous quarter. See NAHB
