U.S. sales of new single-family homes in August were at a seasonally adjusted annual rate of 800,000, increasing 20.5% from July and up 15.4% from the comparable month in 2024.
The seasonally adjusted estimate of new homes for sale in August was 490,000, indicating a 7.4-month supply at the existing sales rate. This represents a decline of 1.4% in the number of homes from July but a rise of 4.0% over August 2024. See U.S. Census Bureau
