U.S. New Home Sales Drop in January

U.S. sales of new single-family homes in January were at a seasonally adjusted annual rate of 587,000, falling 17.6% from December 2025 and off 11.3% from the comparable month in 2025.

The seasonally adjusted estimate of new homes for sale in January was 476,000, indicating a 9.7-month supply at the existing sales rate. This is 0.4% higher than December but 4.0% below January 2025. See U.S. Census Bureau
