U.S. Manufacturing Shipments Increase in May

Seasonally adjusted shipments for all U.S. manufacturing industries in May rose 0.7% from April to $490.4 billion. Wood product shipments grew 2.7% in May to $11.75 billion compared to the prior month. April shipments of furniture and related products dipped 0.2% to $5.94 billion.

New orders for all U.S. manufacturing increased 1.7% from April to $495.53 billion.  Furniture and related product orders in May were down slightly 0.3% from the previous month to $6.19 billion.  See U.S. Census Bureau
