U.S. Manufacturing Shipments Improve in January

Seasonally adjusted shipments for all U.S. manufacturing industries in January rose 0.7% from December 2022 to $547.8 billion. Wood product shipments were also up 0.7% in January to $12.8 billion compared to the prior month. Shipments of furniture and related products increased 0.4% from December to $6.3 billion.

New orders for all U.S. manufacturing dropped 1.6% from December to $542.8 billion in January. Furniture and related product orders grew 0.7% from December to $6.4 billion. See U.S. Census Bureau
