U.S. Manufacturing Shipments Decrease in April

Total seasonally adjusted shipments for all U.S. manufacturing industries in April shrunk 13.5% from March to $406.8 billion. U.S. wood product manufacturing shipments totaled $8.3 billion, down 0.9% from March. April shipments of furniture and related products decreased 8.7% to $6.0 billion.

New orders for all U.S. manufacturing fell 13.0% from March to $384.3 billion.  Furniture and related product orders dropped 10.2% from the previous month to $5.95 billion.  See U.S. Census Bureau
