U.S. Manufacturing Rises for Fifth Consecutive Month

Seasonally adjusted shipments for all U.S. manufacturing industries in September rose for the fifth straight month, up 0.3% from July to $482.81 billion. Wood product shipments grew 3.1% to $10.04 billion over August. September shipments of furniture and related products decreased 0.8% to $6.50 billion.

New orders for all U.S. manufacturing increased 1.1% from August to $474.97 billion.  Furniture and related product orders in September were down 1.0% from the previous month to $6.59 billion.  See U.S. Census Bureau
