Seasonally adjusted shipments for all U.S. manufacturing industries in November 2024 were $586.3 billion, climbing 0.1% from October and 1.5% higher year-to-date from the comparable period in 2023. Wood product shipments increased 0.6% from the previous month to $13.2 billion but declined 0.7% for the year compared to 2023. Shipments of furniture and related products rose 0.3% from October and 0.8% from the first eleven months of 2023 to $6.8 billion.
New orders for all U.S. manufacturing were $586.1 billion in November, 0.4% lower than the prior month but up 0.1% from the same eleven-month period in 2023. Furniture and related product orders totaled $6.8 billion, unchanged from October but improving 1.4% for the year compared to 2023. See U.S. Census Bureau
