U.S. ITA Imposes Anti-dumping/Countervailing Duties on Melamine Imports

The U.S. International Trade Administration identified anti-dumping and countervailing duties on imports of the chemical compound melamine from six countries, which were the subject of an investigation by the International Trade Commission in 2024. The countries targeted for the duties include India, Germany, Japan, Netherlands, Qatar, and Trinidad and Tobago. The duties are differential and reflect the volume of imports to the U.S. and the nature of support for melamine production (subsidies) by the exporting country.
