U.S. Interior Design Billings Rise in December

The Interior Design Billings Index (IDBI), derived from a survey of the American Society of Interior Design (ASID) member-owned firms, increased 3.2 points to 53.4 in December 2020. Any score over 50 indicates growth. Index levels for firms in the South and Northeast were in positive territory at 59.9 and 51.6, respectively. The Midwest contracted to 48.4, while the West was neutral at 49.8.

The index measuring new project inquiries in December jumped 14.3 points to 64.2, the highest score since August 2019. The three-month average increased 4.6 points from November to 57.1, while the six-month outlook remained positive but fell 7.7 points from the previous month to 54.8. See ASID
