U.S. Interior Design Billings Increase in May

The Interior Design Billings Index (IDBI), derived from a survey of the American Society of Interior Design (ASID) member-owned firms, rose 24.6 points in May to 43.5, indicating a rebound from COVID-19-related declines. Any score over 50 indicates growth. Designers in the West and Midwest geographic regions saw billings increase, while the North and Southeast continued downwards.

The index measuring inquiries in May showed significant optimism, rising nearly 23 points from April to 46.3, Looking forward, the six-month outlook rose to 56.3, the first time the index scored above 50 since January 2020. See ASID
