The Interior Design Billings Index (IDBI), derived from a survey of the American Society of Interior Design (ASID) member-owned firms, decreased 4.9 points to 50.2 in November. Any score over 50 indicates growth. Index levels for firms in the South and Midwest remained in positive territory though each dipped less than 1 point to 60.6 and 52.9, respectively. The Northeast approached a level of growth at 49.7, while the West continued as the lowest ranking region for the third consecutive month at 46.1.
The index measuring new project inquiries in November shrunk 7.8 points to 49.6, while the three-month average dropped 3.4 points from October to 52.5. Panelists were optimistic about 2021, with the six-month outlook jumping 5.8 points from the previous month to 62.5. See ASID
