U.S. housing starts in November were at a seasonally adjusted annual rate of 1.68 million, increasing 11.8% from the revised October estimate and 8.3% higher than the comparable month in 2020. Single-family housing starts rose 11.3% from October to 1.17 million.
U.S. building permits in November were at a seasonally adjusted annual rate of 1.71 million, expanding 3.6% from October and up 0.9% from the same month in 2020. Single-family authorizations grew 2.7% to 1.1 million in November. See U.S. Census Bureau
