U.S. Housing Starts Up in July

U.S. housing starts in July were at a seasonally adjusted annual rate of 1.496 million, up 22.6% from the revised June estimate and 23.4% higher than the comparable month last year. Single-family housing starts increased 8.2% from June to 940,000.

U.S. building permits in July were at a seasonally adjusted annual rate of 1.495 million, rising 18.8% from June, and increasing 9.4% from the same month in 2019. Single-family authorizations grew 17.0% from June to 983,000. See U.S. Census Bureau
