U.S. housing starts in October were at a seasonally adjusted annual rate of 1.53 million, up 4.9% from the revised September estimate and 14.2% higher than the comparable month last year. Single-family housing starts increased 6.4% from September to 1.18 million.
U.S. building permits in October were at a seasonally adjusted annual rate of 1.55 million, remaining steady from September, but rising 2.8% from the same month in 2019. Single-family authorizations grew 0.6% from September to 1.11 million. See U.S. Census Bureau
