U.S. Housing Starts Increase in June

U.S. housing starts in June were at a seasonally adjusted annual rate of 1.64 million, rising 6.3% above the revised May estimate and 29.1% higher than the comparable month in 2020. Single-family housing starts increased 6.3% from May to 1.16 million.

U.S. building permits in June were at a seasonally adjusted annual rate of 1.60 million, dropping 5.1% from May but growing 23.3% from the same month in 2020. Single-family authorizations decreased 6.3% from May to 1.06 million. See U.S. Census Bureau
