U.S. Housing Starts Improve in February

U.S. housing starts in February were at a seasonally adjusted annual rate of 1.5 million, increasing 10.7% from January and 5.9% higher than the comparable month last year. Single-family starts rose 11.6% to 1.1 million in February.

 

U.S. building permits were at a seasonally adjusted annual rate of 1.5 million, up 1.9% from January and 2.4% from February 2023. Single-family authorizations grew 1.0% from January to 1.0 million. See U.S. Census Bureau
