U.S. housing starts in June were at a seasonally adjusted annual rate of 1.43 million, decreasing 8% from May and 8.1% lower than the comparable month last year. Single-family starts fell 7% to 935,000 over May.
U.S. building permits were at a seasonally adjusted annual rate of 1.44 million, dropping 3.7% from May and declining 15.3% from June 2022. Single-family authorizations were up 2.2% from May to 922,000. See U.S. Census Bureau
