U.S. Home Sales Drop 24% from August 2020

U.S. sales of new single-family homes in August were at a seasonally adjusted annual rate of 740,000, up 1.5% from July but down 24.3% from the comparable month last year.

The seasonally adjusted estimate of new homes for sale at the end of July was 378,000, representing a 6.1-month supply at the current sales rate. See U.S. Census Bureau
