U.S. Furniture Shipments Down in February; New Orders Increase

Seasonally adjusted shipments for all U.S. manufacturing industries in February were $581.6 billion, improving 1.4% from January. Wood product shipments decreased 1.0% in February to $13.4 billion compared to the prior month. Shipments of furniture and related products declined 0.7% from January to $6.8 billion.

New orders for all U.S. manufacturing were up 1.4% from January to $576.8 billion in February. Furniture and related product orders were $6.8 billion, growing 1.1% from January. See U.S. Census Bureau
