U.S. residential furniture factory orders in June were up 7% above the comparable month in 2020, with over 66% of the participants reporting new orders. Year-to-date orders jumped 51% over the first five months of 2020, with 94% of participants reporting higher orders.

Furniture shipments rose 38% over June 2020 and year-to-date totals increased 42% from the same period last year. With new orders still outpacing shipments, backlogs climbed 3% from May and soared 153% higher than June 2020. See Smith Leonard
