U.S. Furniture Orders Plummet in April

U.S. residential furniture factory orders in April fell 61% from the comparable month in 2019, and were down 52% from March, according to a recent survey of manufacturers and distributors. Year-to-date orders were 21% lower the same period last year. Of those surveyed, 100% reported lower orders in April.

Shipments decreased 50% from both March and April 2019.  For the first four months, shipments were down 15% compared to 2019. See Smith Leonard
