U.S. residential furniture factory orders in December 2022 decreased 30.8% from the comparable month in 2021. Year-to-date orders fell 33.5% over the same period in 2021.
Furniture shipments rose 2.5% from December 2021 and were up 5.4% year-to-date. With shipments continuing to outpace new orders, December backlogs declined 57.5% from 2021 and 9.1% from November 2022. See Smith Leonard
