U.S. residential furniture factory orders in July were $2.3 billion, up 27.5% from the comparable month in 2022 but 8.7% lower than in June. Year-to-date orders dipped 3.8% to $15.2 billion from 2022.
Furniture shipments dropped 20.6% from last July to $2.0 billion and fell 18.3% from June. July backlogs were $3.0 billion, declining 50.5% from last year but rising 3.5% from the prior month. Year-to-date shipments were 17.6% lower than 2022 at $16.9 billion. See Smith Leonard
