U.S. wood product manufacturing sales in the third quarter of 2024 decreased 2.9% from Q2 to $24.6 billion and dropped 12.2% from the same period last year. After-tax profits plunged 35.0% to $1.3 billion from the prior three months and were 53.1% lower than Q3 2023.
Furniture sales shrank 4.4% from Q2 and 14.0% from Q3 2023 to $16.5 billion. After-tax profits in Q3 surged 70.0% from the second quarter, reaching $1.18 million, but fell 16.5% from the same quarter in 2023. See U.S. Census Bureau
