U.S. construction spending in October was estimated at a seasonally adjusted annual rate of $1.44 trillion, rising 1.3% from September and up 3.7% from the year-ago period. Year-to-date spending grew 4.3% from the first ten months of 2019 to $1.19 billion.
Private construction spending increased 1.4% from September to a seasonally adjusted annual rate of $1.09 trillion. Residential levels for October expanded 2.9% from the previous month to $637.1 billion, while non-residential totals dipped 0.7% from September to $456.6 billion. See U.S. Census Bureau
