U.S. Construction Up in January

U.S. construction spending in January was estimated at a seasonally adjusted annual rate of $1.52 trillion, rising 1.7% from December 2020 and up 5.8% from the year prior.  Private construction spending increased 1.7% from December to a seasonally adjusted annual rate of $1.16 trillion.  Residential levels for January expanded 2.5% from the previous month to $713 billion and non-residential totals increased 0.4% from December to $447.0 billion.  See U.S. Census Bureau
