U.S. Construction Spending Unchanged in August

U.S. construction spending in August was estimated at a seasonally adjusted annual rate of $1.58 trillion, nearly even with July, but up 8.9% from the year prior.  Private construction spending was down 0.1% from July to a seasonally adjusted annual rate of $1.24 trillion.  Residential levels for August rose 0.4% from the previous month to $786.6 billion, while non-residential totals dipped 1.0% from July to $455.6 billion.  See U.S. Census Bureau
