U.S. Construction Spending Slightly Up in December 2021

U.S. construction spending in December 2021 was estimated at a seasonally adjusted annual rate of $1.64 trillion, up 0.2% from November and a 9% increase over the year prior.  Private construction spending rose 0.7% from November to a seasonally adjusted annual rate of $1.29 trillion.  Residential totals for December increased 1.1% from the previous month to $810.3 billion, while non-residential figures remained near November levels at $482.6 billion.  See U.S. Census Bureau
