U.S. Construction Spending Down Slightly in September

U.S. construction spending in September was estimated at a seasonally adjusted annual rate of $1.57 trillion, decreasing 0.5% from August but 7.8% higher than the year prior.  Private construction spending was down 0.5% from August to a seasonally adjusted annual rate of $1.23 trillion.  Residential levels for September fell 0.4% from the previous month to $773.5 billion, while non-residential totals dipped 0.6% from August to $456.4 billion.  See U.S. Census Bureau
