U.S. Construction Spending Down in June

U.S. construction spending in June was estimated at a seasonally adjusted annual rate of $1.36 trillion, falling 0.7% from May but rising 0.1% from the year-ago period.  Year-to-date actual spending totaled $667.9 billion, up 5.0% from the first six months of 2019.

Private construction spending decreased 0.7% from May to a seasonally adjusted annual rate of $1.0 trillion.  Residential levels for June were down 1.5% from the previous month to $534.2 billion, and non-residential totals inched upward by 0.2% from May to $467.7 billion.  See U.S. Census Bureau
