U.S. Construction Increase Slightly in April

U.S. construction spending in April was estimated at a seasonally adjusted annual rate of $1.74 trillion, up 0.2% from March and a 12.3% increase over the year prior.  Private construction spending rose 0.5% from March to a seasonally adjusted annual rate of $1.39 trillion.  Residential totals for April were 0.9% higher than the previous month at $891.5 billion and non-residential totals fell 0.2% from March to $503.2 billion.  See U.S. Census Bureau
