The Architecture Billings Index (ABI) in February jumped 8.4 points from January to 53.3, according to The American Institute of Architects (AIA) Economics & Market Research Group. A score below 50 indicates a decline in billings. Design contracts rose 2.8 points from January to 51.6, while inquiries scored over 60 for the first time in two years.
February billings were 52.4 in the South, with the Midwest and West just shy of 50 and the Northeast improving to 46.9 but still lagging all other regions. Firms of all specializations saw billing improvements, with Commercial/Industrial moving above 50. See AIA
