U.S. Architectural Billings Fall in October

The October Architecture Billings Index (ABI) decreased 2.3 points from September to 54.3 according to The American Institute of Architects (AIA) Economics & Market Research Group. A score below 50 indicates a decline in billings. Design contracts increased 3.3 points from September to 58.0.

October billings were in positive territory across all geographic regions except for the Northeast, while firms in the Midwest recorded the largest increase in billings. Firms of all specializations were above 50, with Commercial/Industrial seeing the strongest growth for the ninth straight month.  See AIA
