U.S. Architectural Billings Fall in November

The Architecture Billings Index (ABI) in November decreased 1.2 points to 46.3, according to The American Institute of Architects (AIA) Economics & Market Research Group. Design contracts fell out of positive territory, dropping 3.1 points from September to 48.6. Inquiries rose again but were significantly off pace from the last two months.

November billings decreased in all regions except for the Midwest which saw modest growth, with a positive reading of 50.1. Firms specializing in multi-family residential continued to remain in positive territory at 52.2, while other specialties were below 50 indicating a decline in billings. See AIA
