September Canadian Retail Furniture Sales Grow from Prior Month

Canadian seasonally adjusted retail furniture store sales in September increased 0.5% from last month to $1.14 billion (CAD) but were 4.8% lower than the same month in 2023. Sales for building material dealers rose 3.0% from August to $3.82 billion and were down 2.0% from the same period a year ago. Total Canadian retail sales for the month were $66.94 billion, climbing 0.4% from August and 0.8% from September 2023.
