Canadian building permits in September were up 11.5% from August and 11.7% from the comparable month in 2023 to $13.0 billion (CAD). Residential authorizations increased 7.5% from August and 2.8% from September 2023 to $7.7 billion. Single-family totals were $2.8 billion, climbing 1.3% from last month and 0.9% from September 2023. Multi-family levels reached $5.0 billion in September, growing 11.3% from August and 3.9% from the same month last year.
