September Architectural Billings Soften

The American Institute of Architects (AIA) Economics & Market Research Group’s Architecture Billings Index (ABI) remained unchanged at 45.7 in September, and design contracts rose 1 point to 48.3. September billings were below 50 in all sectors and all geographic regions, but average backlogs were above pre-pandemic levels at 6.4 months. A score above 50 indicates growth. See AIA
