The Architecture Billings Index (ABI) decreased 3.3 points to 44.8 in September, according to The American Institute of Architects (AIA) Economics & Market Research Group. A score above 50 indicates growth in billings. Design contracts dipped 1.7 points from August to 46.2.
September billings were below 50 in all geographic regions, with the West having the lowest score of 44.3. The Institutional sector experienced growth in billings with a score of 50.1, while the Commercial/Industrial and Residential sectors declined. See AIA
