September Architectural Billings Continue to Increase

The September Architecture Billings Index (ABI) increased one point from August to 56.6 according to The American Institute of Architects (AIA) Economics & Market Research Group. A score below 50 indicates a decline in billings. Design contracts fell 1.9 points from August to 54.7.

August billings were in positive territory across all geographic regions but the Midwest and Southeast recorded the largest increase. Firms of all specializations were above 50, with Commercial/Industrial seeing the strongest growth for the eighth straight month.  See AIA
